We currently have a vacancy for a full time, permanent Farm Worker on our 563ha farm at our ANZCO Canterbury plant located 12km from Ashburton. You will report directly to the Farm Manager and be responsible for providing timely and effective assistance for our farming operations. This role involves working rostered alternate weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- All required Health & Safety and Operating practices and activities are consistently observed and complied with, and any concerns are raised with the Farm Manager.
- Operating & maintenance of farm machinery including tractors.
- Ensure availability for weekend work as required and odd hours.
- Provide support to other ANZCO farms/functions where required.
- Fencing & General farm duties.
- Completing daily recording of farm activities, including irrigator shifts completed.
- Farm maintenance is completed on time and to agreed standards including barns and sheds kept tidy.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Competent and working knowledge of irrigation systems.
- Proven experience as a farm hand.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Moana New Zealand is the largest Māori owned Fisheries Company in New Zealand.

Our oysters are farmed in the pristine tidal waters of New Zealand and our Pacific oysters perfectly capture the freshness and vitality of the waters they are harvested from.
We are looking for 2 reliable, hardworking individuals who are keen to learn to join our established farm and shore team.
Reporting to the Farm & Special Projects Manager, your day to day responsibilities will be as follows:
- Take directions from the Supervisor/Manager and complete all allocated tasks and responsibilities to the highest standard, and a strong team spirit
- Help deploy flip farm lines, and the removal of old infrastructure and maintenance related tasks.
- Ensure responsibility for full compliance with maritime rules and regulations
- Be an integral and contributing member of the farm crew in following correct procedures i.e., stocking baskets and best in class oyster husbandry practices.
- Ensure that data is collected accurately and passed onto supervisor and farm technician.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of the demands of the tide/weather conditions. Ensure work planned is arranged to prevent minimal downtime in conjunction with the Farm & Shore Manager and Farm Supervisor.

You must be able to demonstrate you are a team player, reliable, respectful, and hard working. You will possess a great attitude, be easy to work with, and no job is too small or big for you to tackle and become the best at doing.
We are open to considering an aquaculture graduate or a school leaver who is keen to explore a career in aquaculture farming and start in an entry level role and learn the ropes. We are happy to provide training and help support the progression and achievement of related qualifications like Skippers Ticket.
We are also open to considering experienced farming professionals; ideally in oyster or mussel farming.

- Full & Clean NZ Driver’s License and transport to/from work
