Company Description

CEDA is looking for Apprentice Welders for an upcoming shutdown in the Conklin area.

What we Offer:

  • Wages: 1st Year $28.60 / hour, 2nd Year $33.80 / hour, 3rd Year $39.00 / hour, 4th Year $44.20 / hour. Nightshift has a $3.00 / hour premium
  • Camp accommodations provided
  • Day and night shifts available, working 12hr days
  • Tentative start date: March 26, 2025
  • Project expected to wrap up Mid-June 2025

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist journeyman welders in performing welding tasks on pipes, vessels, tanks, and other equipment within the plant.
  • Use a variety of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, to repair and maintain plant infrastructure.
  • Follow all safety protocols and work under supervision to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools safely.
  • Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth plant shutdown operations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications:

  • Registered Welder Apprentice status required
  • Basic knowledge of Welding Process and techniques
  • 1+ years of experience on shutdown events or long term maintenance at plant sites
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Strong commitment to safety and the ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and under varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to the site.
  • H2S Alive certificate, CSO or CSTS 2020 & Confined Space entry (ESC version) required. MUST have physical certificates onsite, no digital copies will be accepted.
  • First Aid, fall arrest and AWP certifications are all considered an asset
  • Class 5 driver’s license (GDL not accepted) able to provide an abstract with no more than 5 demerits in last 3 years
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Receptive to change – can adapt to changing circumstances
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test, booked by CEDA
